In the age of information and technology, conspiracy theories continue to maintain a strong presence on the internet and in the collective imagination of people around the world. The Freemasons are one such organization with roots dating back centuries and this point and with members who have gone onto become President of the United States of America. While the group maintains their position as being nothing more than a social club, numerous theories have been attached to their power and influence over the political and economic structures of the world.

Virtosu has decided to tackle this near-mythical organization in this moody piece and shed some light on their presence in the world. The artist has done thing by creating a striking visual that contains an abstract version of some of the most recognizable symbols related to Freemasonry. We can see the compass and the all-seeing eye found in the logo of the group placed in the centerpiece of this painting. While most of Virtosu’s work features a core that is almost independent of its surrounding, this particular work has elements from the background that blend and merge with the centerpiece. This is indicative of the influence the Freemasons possess on society at large and the power of the organizations centuries after its foundation.

While the background has been crafted using dark and intense colors, the elements representing the Freemasons relies on soft, bright, and complimentary shades in order to showcase the unity within the organization. Virtosu is attempting to make a point here regarding the growing strength of the Freemasons and its overall effect on a society that is still unsure of its true intent.
